Akti is a love letter to the Aegean - wrapped in a palette of pinks that drift like the Greek sunset across the space. From apricot-hued tablecloths and peachy-pink zellige tiles to blush-toned microcement, the tones are sun-drenched, dreamy, and just a little fantastical. Like stepping into a Barbie set, but one rewritten by the gods.
Each place setting begins with a conversation: handmade ceramic plates, individually crafted so no two are ever the same. The outdoor umbrellas nod to vintage Riviera elegance - white scallop-edged canvas trimmed in maroon piping, echoing the lines of Mediterranean boat awnings and making you feel like you’ve just docked in Milos.
Inside, three ceramic goddess portraits - Demeter, Persephone and Hecate - command the dining room with an intimate mythic presence. Below them, a sunken lounge breaks all the rules: rattan sofas curl around a starfish-shaped rug, scatter cushions match the fluffy texture of the coffee table legs, and found objects - like trinkets salvaged from a sunken Greek ship.
To the right outside, Baraki - Akti’s little bar with a big personality - feels lifted from a pop daydream. Director chairs in a warm gradient from yellow to rose, scalloped-edged perforated tables, and a glowing pink bar in that same blushy microcement create a pocket of play just off the wharf.
Akti is the kind of place where a three-hour lunch slips into sunset, into starlight, into a kind of spell. You’ll get the blues when you leave. And you’ll absolutely want to come back.
